NEW FURNITURE - A shabby chic ice box
Eccomi qui! Approfitto del giorno di festa per mostrarvi le fasi di costruzione della ghiacciaia.
Come vi ho scritto ieri, non mi sono ispirata ad un modello reale. Ne ho guardati diversi, ma nessuno mi convinceva a tal punto da decidere di riprodurlo. Così ho seguito l'estro del momento.

I'm new here, finally.
Several months have passed since my last post.
Months of silence in which I have been through difficult times and during which miniatures have been my last thought. In fact, I almost did not think about it, I did not have the time.
In the last post I spoke of the workshop that I held on the occasion of Miniaturitalia, which I do not attended: two days before I learned that my mother had to undergo surgery to remove a synovial cyst at the level of the spine (on Friday morning, the day before the show).
For months this cyst prevented her from sitting down ... she lived standing up the whole day ... even sleeping was difficult.
They were the worst months of my life, passed between a doctor and another, between one examination and the other before we can figure out what it was.
The operation was delicate and lasted much longer than expected: the synovial cyst was anchored to the nerve, so a wrong move by the surgeon would have risked compromising the movement capability.
Luckily everything went well, but it took months to recover.
Now is much better, although it will still take a bit 'of time before she recovers completely.
I think you can understand the state of mind in which I found myself until recently and the fact that I no longer have written on the blog, not even to warn you that I would not exhibit at the miniature show ...
I am very sorry but I did not want to leave her alone, especially given that the intervention was risky ...
From this month of August, I started to have an interest in miniatures, that the imagination and the desire to create are back.
In recent months there has also been another big change in my life.
I lost my job in November 2012 and by January 2014 I began working by myself as a Nutritionist.
It's a job that excites me, but at the moment it leave little space for my creativity.
I'm also working on my house (the real one), in which I opened my own studio.
In short, I think you understand that for me is a time of change and rebirth!
I thank all the friends that I have been close to me: it is thanks to them that I'm back here on the blog ...
Now you may wonder what I'm up to these days, as I have told you that it is from this month that I started to be interested again in miniatures ...

Well,
at the moment I'm concentrating on the renovation of my house (the
miniature one): I no longer liked the color chosen for the exterior
and even the interior design. The furniture I liked yet, but their
style certainly not.
Also, having turned my room into a professional studio, (I have changed the style ... now everything is in perfect white Nordic style!), I thought I had to give a new look to the house: I like to keep it in the studio!

So I repainted the façade (from pink it has become white) and started to repaint also the single rooms, but I will show you some photos later.
In the meantime, I'm thinking to change a little my blog ... I would like to renew it a bit' ... and I should also get back to work to carry out some orders received months ago ...

Mondodifavola's Billot

Today I want to talk about one of my favorites ... the Billot. I exposed it for the first time at the miniature fair in Paris, the Simp 2009, where it had been a great success !

For
me it was a great satisfaction. It 'was the first furniture for
collectors that I made and that marked the beginning of a new
Mondodifavola because, from that moment on, I tried to make all my
own furniture ...unfortunately not always succeed because I can
devote so much time to miniatures...I must apologize to you ... my
dream is to always give you the option to choose unique miniatures
but it's not always ... but well, for me, my Billot was a big
milestone.
So you can imagine the disappointment I felt when I discovered that my "baby" was copied ...
... this is the reason why I dedicate this post to my Billot ...

you can be sure that the furniture you buy is an original work of
Mondodifavola, I decided to accompany each work that I feel "special"
(entirely made by me) of a logo in brass as in real
furniture.
This label reflects the style of my logo (which you can see in the banner at the top left of this blog): an oval engraved with the initial of my name, Elena, and two fake screws on the sides.

have not decided where to place the plate because I do not know if
you like, mine is an attempt to give you something unique and

Oggi
vi voglio parlare di uno dei miei mobili preferiti...il Billot. L'ho
esposto per la prima volta nel 2009 alla fiera di Parigi, il Simp,
dove ha subito avuto un grande successo...avevo venduto quello
esposto e un altro mi era stato ordinato!!
Per
me è stata una grande soddisfazione. E' stato il primo mobile “da
collezione” che ho realizzato e che ha segnato l'inizio di una
nuova Mondodifavola perchè, da quel momento in poi, ho cercato di
realizzare da sola ogni mio mobile...purtroppo non sempre ci riesco
perchè il tempo che posso dedicare alle miniature non è molto...e
di questo mi devo scusare con voi...vorrei sempre darvi la
possibilità di scegliere miniature uniche...ma per me è stato un
grosso traguardo.
Potete
quindi immaginare il dispiacere che ho provato quando ho scoperto che
questa mia “creatura” mi è stata copiata...
...questo
è il motivo per cui dedico questo post al mio Billot...
...perchè
voi possiate essere sicure che il mobile che acquistate è un'opera
originale di Mondodifavola, ho deciso di corredare ogni mi opera che
ritengo “speciale” (quindi realizzata da me) di un logo in ottone
come si fa con i mobili veri.
Questa
targhetta riprende lo stile del mio logo (che potete vedere in alto a
sinistra nel banner di questo blog): un ovale con incisa l'iniziale
del mio nome, Elena, e due finte viti ai lati.
Non
ho ancora deciso dove posizionare la targhetta perchè non so se
piacerà, il mio è un tentativo di darvi qualcosa di unico e
speciale, perchè ogni mia creazione lo è e perchè voi, per quanto
non vi conosca personalmente, lo siete per me: senza di voi
Mondodifavola non esisterebbe!!!

SORPRESA!
Ciao a tutti!
ho una bella notizia da darvi: ho fatto un primo controllo medico...è andato bene!!!!! Le cure stanno funzionando: i miei poveri occhietti pian piano stanno meglio, i sintomi sono più radi (per fortuna perchè fanno impazzire!!) e io ben presto mi rimetterò al lavoro. Ho così tante idee da realizzare in miniatura!
Quindi...tenetevi forte perchè... Mondodifavola sta tornando!!!!!!!!!

PS: dimenticavo, prima di postare questa bella notizia mi sono data alla pazza gioia ed ho festeggiato partendo per Parigi...avevo così tanta voglia di rivedere tutti gli amici miniaturisti al Simp! Finalmente ho potuto godere di ogni singola miniatura e di tutti i miei amici che, di solito, saluto di sfuggita perchè quando si è espositore non si ha tempo per nulla di tutto questo!
Se volete fare un giretto virtuale in questa bellissima fiera parigina, sappiate che trovate il link qui sulla destra!
