SOME NEW MINIATURES...

How few things I have done in these last months, but how many things I would like to tell you! The last time I wrote here on the blog I was recovering ... my scar is fine and so I am!

As for miniatures, I was more present on FB and on Ig that here on the blog. I tried several apps to be able to more easily update it, maybe before going to sleep or when I wake up, but none satisfied me a lot. There is always something wrong or some that needs to be improved ... patience ... I came back to my dear computer!

Quante poche cose ho fatto in questi mesi, ma quante cose vorrei raccontarvi! L’ultima volta che ho scritto qui sul blog ero ancora convalescente…La mia cicatrice sta bene e così anche io!

Per quanto concerne le miniature, sono stata più presente su Fb e su Ig che qui sul blog. Ho provato diverse app per poterlo aggiornare con maggior facilità, magari prima di andare a dormire o al mio risveglio, ma nessuna mi ha soddisfatto molto. C’è sempre qualcosa che non funziona o che deve essere migliorato…pazienza…torno al mio caro computer!

NEW FURNITURE - A shabby chic ice box

Eccomi qui! Approfitto del giorno di festa per mostrarvi le fasi di costruzione della ghiacciaia.

Purtroppo non ho fatto le foto di ogni singolo passaggio, ma spero che quelle che vi mostrerò e le mie indicazioni, possano aiutarvi a capire come ho realizzato ogni dettaglio.

Come vi ho scritto ieri, non mi sono ispirata ad un modello reale. Ne ho guardati diversi, ma nessuno mi convinceva a tal punto da decidere di riprodurlo. Così ho seguito l'estro del momento.

MY DOLLHOUSE - The Kitchen

Here is a moment to show you my latest creation . Those who follow me on FB and IG will have already seen some details : I redecorated the kitchen of my dollhouse ! I do not know how many years have I reason that , without ever finding an idea . I have often thought of creating a pantry area, on the back wall , but I was not convinced by. I search some  inspiration on Pinterest , but finding something suitable to my long, narrow kitchen is not easy . Finally, thanks to the support of my mother and my friend Anna , I found the rigth idea !

Ecco un attimo di tempo per mostrarvi la mia ultima creazione. Chi mi segue su Fb ed Ig avrà già visto qualche dettaglio: ho riarredato la cucina della mia casetta! Non so quanti anni sono che ci ragiono, senza mai trovare un’idea. Più volte ho pensato di creare un angolo dispensa, sulla parete di fondo, ad angolo, ma poi cambiavo idea perché non ne ero convinta. Ho cercato un po’ di ispirazione su Pinterest, ma trovare qualcosa di adatto alla mia cucina stretta e lunga non è facile. Insomma alla fine, anche grazie al supporto di mia madre e della mia amica Anna, ho trovato l’idea convincente!

Obviously there are still many details , but I would say that much of the work is done .

First I repainted the walls . Initially I put a wallpaper with blue and white tiles effect. Obviously now it’s not to my taste , so I painted  cream color. The high part of the wall , above the moulding , was finished with a grainy wallpaper (1:1). I painted it white , so it was a little in contrast with the lower part . Toward the ceiling I glued a moulding board, but now I do not like it , so I tried to camouflage it with colla americana and I painted it white .

Ovviamente mancano ancora molti dettagli, ma direi che buona parte del lavoro è stato fatto.

Per prima cosa ho riverniciato le pareti. Inizialmente avevo messo una carta da parati ad effetto piastrelle bianche e blu. Ovviamente non era più di mio gusto, quindi l’ho verniciato con un color crema. La parte alta del muro, al di sopra del fregio, era rifinita con una carta da parati granulosa. Mi sono limitata a verniciarla di bianco, così che fosse un poco in contrasto con la parte inferiore. Verso il soffitto avevo incollato un bordo smerlettato, ma non mi piace più, quindi ho cercato di camuffarlo con la colla americana e l’ho verniciato di bianco.

Well, speacking about furnishing .

On the left side you will find two chairs (I bought them in a miniature shop) and a coffee table , made ​​by me about two years ago . All the miniature accessoriesc on the table are made by me , except the doily , which is a gift . The shelf full of objects is by Cri 's Mini , which I told you some post ago .

Il pavimento non mi convince. L’ho realizzato diversi anni fa, appena costruita la casetta. Valuterò più in la se e come modificarlo. Per ora la tengo così.

Veniamo all’arredo.

Sul lato sinistro trovate due sedie (comprate) ed un tavolino, realizzato da me circa due anni fa. Gli oggettini sul tavolino sono tutti realizzati da me, tranne il centrino, che è un regalo. La mensolina piena di oggetti è di Cri’s Mini, di cui vi ho parlato tempo fa.

The kitchen is resting at an angle against a wall created on purpose. It 's just stuck and not glued ... because knowing me I could still change tastes and dismantle everything ! This wall is made of a piece of cardboard ( to those who are at the bottom of notepads , so a little bit thicky ) , on which I glued the brickes, made from cork ( this is a beautiful idea of my friend Anne of which I have spoken last post !! ) . To fill the space between a brick and the other , I used a gesso primer by Stamperia .

La cucina è poggiata ad angolo, contro una parete creata apposta. E’ solo incastrata e non incollata…perché conoscendomi potrei cambiare ancora gusti e smontare tutto! Questa parete è stata realizzata usando un pezzo di cartone (di quelli che ci sono in fondo ai blocnotes, quindi un pochino spesso), sul quale ho incollato dei rettangolini di sughero (questa è una bellissima idea della mia amica Anna di cui vi ho parlato nello scorso post!!). Per riempire lo spazio tra un mattone e l’altro, ho usato un primer ad effetto cemento della Stamperia.

 

The structure that separate the two part of the kitchen, is made of wooden columns ( the same as the porch ) , balsa strips , cardboard and scrapboocking moulding bt Stamperia. La struttura con i fregi l’ho creata usando due colonnine di legno (le stesse del portico), dei listelli di balsa, del cartone e dei fregi per scrapboocking della Stamperia. Insomma una serie di materiali diversi! Sulla mensolina ovale trovate le uova di Loredana (cliccate QUI per vedere il suo blog)  

On the right side you see a Bespaq furniture, repainted in white , on which I put some of my latest creations . I'd like to hang on the corresponding wall some shelves . Next door is an empty space that soon I will fill with a refrigerator .

On the bottom another Bespaq furniture , converted into a sink . In Pinterest I found several ideas for sinks made ​​from tin buckets and I thought that I would have liked to have one in my miniature kitchen . So I surch a metal bucket , built the vertical wall on the cabinet, in order to then enter the taps . Above the sink I put the water heater purchased several years ago ... finally he too will find its rightful place .

I'd like to create tutorials to show you how I made every detail of this kitchen ... who knows ... maybe I will succeed !

Sul lato destro vedete un mobile Bespaq, riverniciato di bianco, sul quale ho riposto alcune delle mie ultime creazioni. Sul muro corrispondente mi piacerebbe appendere dei ripiani. A fianco c’è uno spazio vuoto che a breve riempirò con un frigorifero.

Sul fondo un mobile Bespaq, riadattato a lavello. In Pinterest ho trovato diverse idee per lavelli realizzati con secchi di latta ed ho pensato che mi sarebbe piaciuto averne uno nella mia cucina. Così ho recuperato un secchio basso di metallo, ho realizzato la parete verticale sul mobile, per poter poi inserire i rubinetti. Al di sopra del lavello credo metterò il boiler acquistato diversi anni fa…finalmente anche lui troverà la sua giusta collocazione.

Mi piacerebbe creare dei tutorial per mostrarvi come ho realizzato ogni dettaglio di questa cucina…chissà…magari ci riuscirò!

NEW MINIATURES - A bottles rack & a bottle drainer

Here I am after another creative Sunday . I have to thank my friend Anna (click on her name to see her website) for this : she hosted me , together with our friend Cinzia, and we spent a whole afternoon working on miniatures .

Eccomi qui dopo un'altra Domenica creativa. Devo ringraziare la mia amica Anna (cliccate sul suo nome per vedere il suo sito) per questo: mi ha ospitata, insieme alla nostra amica Cinzia, ed abbiamo passato un intero pomeriggio a lavorare alla nostre miniature.

But today I want to show not only what I have done , but also the original to which I was inspired .

Oggi però vi voglio mostrare non solo ciò che ho fatto, ma anche l'originale a cui mi sono ispirata.

Here's my first creation : a bottles rack . For years, I want to make one , and finally came the opportunity to do so . I surch some photos on Pinterest and I found the one I show below .

Ecco la mia prima creazione: un cestello porta bottiglie. Sono anni che desidero farne uno e finalmente è arrivata l'occasione per farlo. Ho cercato un po' di foto in Pinterest ed ho trovato quello che vi mostro qui di seguito.

NEW MINIATURES - A shabby chic electrician coil and a vintage hanging chair

Another week has began. Yours how turned out ? For me , with a Sunday lived in peace and dedicated to miniatures.

Ecco iniziata un'altra settimana. La vostra com'è finita? Per me, con una Domenica vissuta in tranquillità e dedicata alle miniature.

It does not seem real . In a few weeks I'm making different things ! How I missed all this ?!

Non mi sembra vero. In poche settimane sto realizzando diverse cose! Quanto mi è mancato tutto questo?!

As you know I'm renewing my Georgian dollhouse ( the white one in the left column here ) . First I gave a hand of “rustic effect” medium, at the top of the wall . I also tried to disguise the shaped moulding , I do not like most . I filled the moulding holes with colla americana, a product similar to silicon , useful both to paste and to seal.

Hi girls!

I'm new here, finally.
Several months have passed since my last post.
Months of silence in which I have been through difficult times and during which miniatures have been my last thought. In fact, I almost did not think about it, I did not have the time.
In the last post I spoke of the workshop that I held on the occasion of Miniaturitalia, which I do not attended: two days before I learned that my mother had to undergo surgery to remove a synovial cyst at the level of the spine (on Friday morning, the day before the show).
For months this cyst prevented her from sitting down ... she lived standing up the whole day ... even sleeping was difficult.
They were the worst months of my life, passed between a doctor and another, between one examination and the other before we can figure out what it was.
The operation was delicate and lasted much longer than expected: the synovial cyst was anchored to the nerve, so a wrong move by the surgeon would have risked compromising the movement capability.
Luckily everything went well, but it took months to recover.
Now is much better, although it will still take a bit 'of time before she recovers completely.
I think you can understand the state of mind in which I found myself until recently and the fact that I no longer have written on the blog, not even to warn you that I would not exhibit at the miniature show ...
I am very sorry but I did not want to leave her alone, especially given that the intervention was risky ...
From this month of August, I started to have an interest in miniatures, that the imagination and the desire to create are back.
In recent months there has also been another big change in my life.
I lost my job in November 2012 and by January 2014 I began working by myself as a Nutritionist.
It's a job that excites me, but at the moment it leave little space for my creativity.
I'm also working on my house (the real one), in which I opened my own studio.
In short, I think you understand that for me is a time of change and rebirth!
I thank all the friends that I have been close to me: it is thanks to them that I'm back here on the blog ...
Now you may wonder what I'm up to these days, as I have told you that it is from this month that I started to be interested again in miniatures ... 

 

Well, at the moment I'm concentrating on the renovation of my house (the miniature one): I no longer liked the color chosen for the exterior and even the interior design. The furniture I liked yet, but their style certainly not.
Also, having turned my room into a professional studio, (I have changed the style ... now everything is in perfect white Nordic style!), I thought I had to give a new look to the house: I like to keep it in the studio! 

So I repainted the façade (from pink it has become white) and started to repaint also the single rooms, but I will show you some photos later.
In the meantime, I'm thinking to change a little my blog ... I would like to renew it a bit' ... and I should also get back to work to carry out some orders received months ago ... 

So if you want to come back to follow me, know this will make me really happy: I miss you!

My New Project, Day 3

Hello girls!

I'm back with some updates.

So, in my last post my little house finally had rectangular doors and windows, an opening on one side to create an extra room and I had many ideas in my head to realize.

Let me tell you what other changes has been ... I'm literally transforming it, now you'll see!

First, to make a bit special inside, I decided to raise a portion of the ground floor, which set up the sitting area. I decided to create this area between the side wall (the one that has remained intact) and the front door and tried to furnish it with an English fireplace and two chairs.

 

Then I remembered that two years ago I purchased a stone fireplace: I just saw and I was in love. I did not know, at that time, the project for which I will use it and, above all, if I would really used it, but I really wanted it so I bought it.

And now here he looks great in my new house ... it seems to be perfectly suited to my project, isn't it?

 

Well in the photo the fireplace is not complete but is reduced: the ceiling of the house was too low to put the fireplace, so I first tried to remove a layer of stones ... but it seemed crushed.
So I decided it would be best to put it all and I completely change the internal structure of the house.

 

So I reached the platform (well before I stretched and then I shortened a little ... as you can see in the photos) and I reduced the foreground creating a loft. Then I lifted the front wall because it was too low relative to the chimney.

 

At that point I wrestled with another problem: the roof. The window does not convince me, not even on the fireplace. So I closed both.

 

Then I finished and painted interior walls and created the floor ... and here is the result!

 

Do you like it?
I am satisfied ... rustic walls cream-colored, tiled flooring painted hot gray (I have yet to finish it) and a raised base of the chimney painted the same color as the floor.

Now I have to finish the floor then I can dedicate to the construction of the extra room (there I will put the kitchen) and to the finishing of the external walls of the house.

Ciao ragazze!

Rieccomi con qualche aggiornamento.

Allora, vi ho salutato che la mia casetta aveva finalmente porte e finestre rettangolari, un'apertura su uno dei lati per creare una stanza in più ed io avevo molte idee in testa da realizzare.

Ora vi racconto quale altra modifica ha subito...la sto letteralmente trasformando, ora vedrete!

Innanzitutto, per rendere un po' particolare l'interno, ho deciso di rialzare una parte del piano terra, nella quale allestire la zona salotto. Ho pensato di creare questa zona tra la parete laterale (quella rimasta intatta) e la porta d'ingresso ed ho provato ad arredarla con un camino inglese e due sedie.

Poi mi sono ricordata che due anni fa ho acquistato un camino di pietra: me ne ero innamorata appena visto. Non sapevo, a quel tempo, per quale progetto l'avrei utilizzato e, soprattutto, se l'avrei utilizzato, ma lo volevo assolutamente quindi l'ho preso.

Ed ora eccolo che fa bella mostra di se nella mia nuova casetta...non vi sembra che sia perfettamente adatto al mio progetto?

Si beh nella foto il camino non è completo ma è ridotto: il soffitto della casetta era troppo basso per mettere il camino, quindi ho prima provato a togliere un livello di pietre...ma così sembrava schiacciato.

A quel punto ho deciso che sarebbe stato meglio metterlo intero ed ho quindi deciso di modificare totalmente la struttura interna della casa.

Ecco allora che ho allungato la pedana (beh prima l'ho allungata e poi l'ho accorciata un poco...come vedete nelle foto) ed ho ridotto il primo piano creando un soppalco. Poi ho alzato il muro della facciata perché era troppo bassa rispetto al camino.

A quel punto mi si è posto un altro problema: il tetto. La finestra non mi convince, neppure quella sul camino. Così ho chiuso entrambe.

Poi ho rifinito e verniciato i muri interni e creato il pavimento...ed ecco il risultato!

Vi piace?

Io sono soddisfatta...pareti rustiche verniciate color panna, pavimento a piastrelle rettangolari color grigio caldo (devo ancora finirlo), base rialzata del camino verniciata dello stesso colore del pavimento.

Ora dovrò rifinire il pavimento quindi potrò dedicarmi alla costruzione della stanza in più, nella quale alloggerò la cucina ed alla rifinitura delle pareti esterne della casa.

My New Project, Day 2

Hello girls!

Then, I finally started working on my new project ... and I already have it finished, but the fact that this kit is designed for children causes me no little difficulty ... is poor in detail and I do not like it.
Never mind, it will mean that if I will succeed in my goal the satisfaction will be greater!

Before showing you the first stages of work and sharing with you my ideas to transform this house though, I want to thank you for the messages you have left and, especially, for the trust you place in me!
Thank you so much girls ... I hope not to disappoint your expectations!

And now we come to the house.

As I said in my previous post, it's a kit ...these are the parts I have to assemble ...

At first I assembled to see how it looks in real...the photo I showed in my last post was in fact taken from the pack.

 

So I notice that the house has some notches that I have to hidden (see some elongated holes: those are the catch points).

I do not like even the front door and the windows ... first of all they do not open and ther's no glass ... I do not know if I will be able to realize opening windows in any case I do not like how they actually are. And then their shape do not fits the model I'm inspiring to... do you remember my inspiration board? Here it is ...

Furthermore, the base of the house does not rest well ... as you see in the picture is raised above the wood base on wich I put the house. This is due to the interlocking system, which facilitates mounting to a child but I do not like ... so I laid some strips of wood to make the structure more stable.

I do not like the patio too, but don't know, fot the time being, how to transform it...

 

Then I also changed the doors and windows: I enlarged and changed the shape of the front door, I made rectangular windows and to those of the ground floor I removed the horizontal bar.

So if before the house looked like this ...

 

...now it looks like this...

Difficult to say, at this stage of processing, whether it is more or less fine, but certainly in this way it resemble more to the original.

As you can see from the pictures I made another change.
The house is rather small, also the inner walls bounding the spaces even more ... the ground floor has a partition wall that does not allow to exploit the space well. Furthermore, the staircase leading to first floor should be exactly opposite the door.
So I am not satisfied.

Thus, I won't put the partition wall and I also create an opening on the side wall: I'm going to make a new little room in which I'll put the dining room or kitchen, still do not know. In any case the aim is to widen a little the house and increase the available space.
Is this a good idea?

Well, now I can go back to work ... I hope to have some news to show you soon!

Ciao ragazze!

Allora, i lavori alla casetta sono finalmente iniziati...e già vorrei averla finita, ma il fatto che questo kit sia pensato per bambini mi crea non poche difficoltà...è povera di dettagli e non mi piace.

Non fa niente, vorrà dire che se riuscirò nel mio intento la soddisfazione sarà maggiore!

Prima di mostrarvi le prime fasi di lavorazione e condividere con voi le mie idee per trasformare questa casetta però, voglio ringraziarvi per i messaggi che mi avete lasciato e, soprattutto, per la fiducia che riponete in me!

Grazie di cuore ragazze...spero di non deludere le vostre aspettative!

Ed ora veniamo alla casetta.

Come vi ho detto nel post precedente, si tratta di un kit...ecco parte dei pezzi che dovrò assemblare...

Come prima cosa l'ho montata in modo provvisorio per vedere dal vivo l'affetto che fa...la foto che vi ho mostrato nello scorso post era infatti tratta dalla confezione.

Così mi accorgo che la struttura ha degli incastri che dovrò nascondere (in alcuni punti vedete dei fori allungati: quelli sono i punti di incastro).

Non mi piacciono neppure la porta d'ingresso e le finestre...innanzitutto sono finte, non sono apribili e neppure provviste di vetro...non so se sarò in grado di realizzarle apribili in ogni caso così non mi piacciono. E poi la loro forma poco si adatta al modello a cui mi sto ispirando...ricordate?

Inoltre, la base della casa non poggia bene...come vedete nella foto rimane rialzata rispetto alla base di mdf sulla qualche l'ho appoggiata. Questo è dovuto al sistema di incastro, che ad un bambino facilita il montaggio ma a me non piace...così ho fissato dei listelli di legno in modo da rendere più stabile la struttura.

Non mi piace neppure la veranda ma al momento non so ancora come modificarla...

Quindi ho modificato anche la porta e le finestre. La porta d'ingresso l'ho allargata e ne ho modificato la forma, la finestre le ho rese rettangolari ed a quelle del piano terra ho tolto la barra orizzontale.

Quindi ecco le foto del Prima e del Dopo!

Difficile dire, a questa fase di lavorazione, se sia più bella o meno, ma di sicuro in questo modo assomiglierà di più all'originale.

Come potete vedere dalle foto ho apportato anche un'altra modifica.

La casetta è piuttosto piccola, inoltre le pareti interne delimitano ancora di più gli spazi...il piano terra ha una parete divisoria che non permette di sfruttare bene lo spazio. Inoltre la scala che porta al primo piano dovrebbe essere esattamente di fronte alla porta d'entrata.

Insomma non mi soddisfa.

Quindi, la parete divisoria non la metterò ed ho anche creato un'apertura in una delle pareti laterali: ho intenzione di realizzare una nicchia nella quale metterò la sala da pranzo o la cucina, ancora non lo so. In ogni caso l'obiettivo è quello di allargare un po' la casetta ed aumentare lo spazio disponibile.

Vi sembra una buona idea?

Bene, ora posso tornare al lavoro...spero di avere presto qualche novità da mostrarvi!
